Quail Ridge Country Club is a high-end, architecturally designed community in Kerikeri, Bay of Islands. The facilities at Quail Ridge Country Club offer a new standard in retirement living with a choice of spacious villas all providing exceptional features for discerning residents. How SECURELY® became involved
In April 2020, Electra Ltd acquired a 49.9% share in Quail Ridge Country Club. Electra is best known for delivering power to the Kapiti and Horowhenua regions and is fast gaining a reputation as a forward-thinking and progressive business investing in areas of proven growth. One of its subsidiaries, SECURELY® provides state of the art medical alarms for the village.
Every home is protected – medical, fire, police
In 2020 SECURELY® installed a monitored medical alarm (which included pendants) & monitored smoke detector in every unit. In units where there was a couple, an extra pendant was included in the package. All activations go directly to the 24/7 monitoring centre in Levin. A spare key to the house is in a secure lockbox outside every house enabling emergency services a fast entry.
Responding to an activation
As with all medical alarm activations, there is a choice as to how SECURELY® responds. Quail Ridge asked that activations first be reported to the Village Manager allowing a fast onsite triage by the Village Manager and/or a neighbour if they were listed as an emergency contact. Depending on the situation SECURELY® contacts emergency services along with any emergency contacts such as family members. SECURELY® stays on the line with the resident while talking to emergency services, providing additional information such as the nature of the emergency, Village security gate combination if nighttime, home location, lockbox number and is able to use a site map able to guide the ambulance to the right home quickly.
What does the future look like?
Quail Ridge homes are designed so that you can stay in your home longer – with level entry access, extra wide halls and spacious rooms that can accommodate walkers and wheelchairs if needed. In-home care can be provided until such time as full care is required. Our future state-of-the-art care facility will offer rest home, hospital and dementia care.
